DOT Kenya, Youth Leadership Advisory Board 2023
Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT) Kenya is excited to announce its members of the 2023 Youth Leadership Advisory Board (YLAB)!
The Youth Leadership Advisory Board (YLAB) – a diverse group of innovative young community leaders – will support DOT Kenya by providing strategic advice and solutions to matters affecting youth, as well as provide an opportunity for active youth participation in the designing, planning and implementation of the DOT ‘s programs.
The YLAB will play a special role during our program implementation by promoting and providing strategic direction. They will also devote their creativity, skills and time to advise, assist, support and advocate for DOT Youth programmes, at local, regional and national levels.
Meet our 2023 YLAB members:
Brigid Siantei Kashoi
Brigid Siantei is passionate about women and youth empowerment. She has over 4 years experience in program implementation around women and youth economic empowerment, their active and meaningful participation in politics and GBV prevention and response. Brigid brings on board skills in rapporteuring, resource mobilisation and strategy development. She has previously worked at FIDA Kenya, Women’s Empowerment Link and Jonathan Jackson Foundation. She is currently working as a program officer at Center for Multiparty Democracy (CMD -Kenya) where she heads a program aimed at strengthening youth voices in local governance. Brigid is a YALI and ELF Alumni. Outside work, she loves sports.
Veronica Njambi
Veronica Njambi is a pharmacist passionate about global health, particularly improving access to healthcare through optimising service delivery and transformation of communities. She currently runs Anaya pharmaceuticals, a health strengthening business model in Kiambu county. She is also a YALI alumna, a member of Women in Global Health-Kenya and Ryculture Health and Social Innovation. She brings on board skills in leadership, business development, project implementation and design and health research. Veronica strongly believes in meaningful youth engagement in community transformation, through their skills and mindset.
Mark Oluoch
Mark Oluoch is an environmental scientist by profession. He is a co-founder of The Green Pulse CBO in Nakuru that creates awareness on climate change. He has 5 years experience, working with the public, private and NGO sectors. He is passionate about environmental conservation, youth empowerment and a believer in change and impacting lives. He enjoys watching geographic documentaries, football and travelling.
Merceline Odhiambo
Merceline Odhiambo is the Founder and Executive Director of Grassroot Women and Politics She is a Women Political Leadership enthusiast. She has about four years’ experience in campaigns, project management, research, administration, report writing and communication. As a board member, she intends to share her experience and knowledge on women political leadership and the need for information, resources and skills at grassroot level especially for the women and youth.
Boniface Maenge
Boniface Maenge, is a passionate advocate for digital opportunities for young women. With 5 years of experience in working for equal rights for adolescent girls and young women, Boniface has an understanding of the digital landscape and the importance of closing the gender gap in the field. As a member of the board, Boniface brings his expertise and dedication to empowering young women to explore and succeed in digital careers. Through his work, Boniface hopes to inspire and support the next generation of female tech leaders.
Harriet Napwori
Harriet Napwori is a Nutrition and Dietetics graduate from the Rift Valley Technical Eldoret. She is a trained Social Worker and a DOT Kenya Social Innovator, class of 2021. Harriet is a health enthusiast, actively campaigning for people living with chronic health conditions and particularly people living with sickle cell anaemia. Harriet currently runs a social enterprise dubbed ‘Harry’s Health Hub’ based in Mombasa. She is passionate about mentoring young aspiring entrepreneurs.
Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT) Kenya is a non-profit organisation established in 2005 to transform local communities and support the social and economic development of youth and women. Our mission is to mobilise and inspire underserved and disadvantaged young people with digital literacy, 21st-century skills, and the self-confidence that will enable them to thrive in an inclusive digital economy.
