On Friday the 25 May, 2012 DOT Kenya was privileged to host David Collins, The High Commissioner of Canada to Kenya, at the Kisumu Rotary Youth Training Centre, in Nyanza. The visit which was organized in conjunction with the Canadian International Development Agency in Kenya- CIDA, aimed at showcasing DOT's ReachUp! program in action and some of the impact the program has had on the beneficiaries and their communities.

Digital Opportunity Trust Kenya held a graduation ceremony for 65 MasterCard Foundation Interns who have, for a period of nine months been delivering DOT's flagship program, ReachUp!, in numerous youth centers around the country.

On May, 11, 2012 in Nairobi, Kenya - curtains came down for the second group of MasterCard Foundation-funded Interns after a long and exciting nine month journey of delivering ReachUp!, DOT's flagship economic program. The celebration was officiated by DOT's President and CEO Janet Longmore, who was accompanied by a number of distinguished guests and DOT Kenya local partners.

DOT Kenya deploys 75 new Interns

DOT Kenya is currently in the process of deploying 75 new Interns under the MasterCard Foundation Funded ReachUp! program. This is the fourth lot of Interns under the program, and will be in the field for the next nine months delivering ReachUp! in over 100 youth and community centers across the country.

DOT Kenya is currently in the process of deploying 75 new Interns under the MasterCard Foundation Funded ReachUp! program. This is the fourth lot of Interns under the program. A majority of the new Interns are expected to take over from the second group who graduated last week on Friday 11th while some will be venturing into new areas where DOT Kenya is pioneering the ReachUp! program. These include Nyamira in Nyanza, Subukia in Rift Valley and Kwale in Coast region.

DOT Kenya Hosts Innovation Fest

On Friday the 27th April, 2012 DOT Kenya held an exciting youth Innovation Fest at the Aga Khan Academy in Mombasa. The Fest, which was championed by the Business Hub interns in the region, aimed at showcasing and celebrating DOT Interns, participants, community partners, as well as engaging government and corporate stakeholders to share ideas on how youth can embrace technology to create sustainable livelihoods.
